Private Label Manufacturing & How to get started with WHP
What to consider after you are listed as a private manufacturer with the FDA
Manufacturing Lead-time minimum 4 to 6 weeks AFTER review and approval of all components, labels, ingredients, etc, submission of PO and 1/3 deposit.
All Private Label manufacturing must meet Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the US standards.
Binder – Lactose/Sucrose, other
Alcohol – 20% or 87% (10% cost increase)
Pellets sizes - #10, #15, #25, #35, #40 (WHP Standard), # 55
Provide a list of ingredients
List Components- WHP has a listing of WHP standard components that we currently use in manufacturing. It is referred to as an Odds and Ends list. (WHP standard components should be purchased prior to PO date.) List without prices.
You can choose to use our components or source your own components. A 10% manufacturing fee will be automatically added if you choose not to use WHP components. WHP will assess manufacturing time. If we are unable to use our filling/labeling/packaging equipment an additional manufacturing charge will be accrued based upon the additional labor cost estimate if we must fill the product by hand.
Utilizing components that are not WHP standard components will add significant lead time and expense. If you wish to use a component that is not a WHP standard component you will be required to submit a sample for review, approval and production cost estimate. Often there are large (3000+) minimum orders for components. You will be required to source and purchase components and ship them to WHP manufacturing. Any items not used for your order will be returned to you at your expense (we do not offer storage or pay for shipping of components).
Private label production minimums must coordinate with printing minimums (i.e.: Blister pack card printing minimum is 5000). WHP can assist with graphic design ($65/hr). This service will be part of your production estimate. FDA requires specific words to be listed on the label.
Smaller production quantities will be considered on a case-by-case basis. There will be an automatic charge on production quantities less than 1000 pieces. WHP reserves the right to require that small production quantities utilize standard WHP components. Print companies rarely offer minimums less than 1000 labels. WHP can assist with graphic design ($65/hr). This service will be part of your production estimate.
